In First Grade students have been learning about writing.  Students have been learning how to use graphic organizers to help them in the writing process.  They have been working on writing opinion pieces and how to support their opinions.  We have also been working on compound words, verbs, and inflectional endings.  Students have also been sharing some their favorite books by reading aloud on Friday during our read-alouds; some have even started to write their own stories! 

We have also been learning about our faith and how Jesus is like the good shepherd who lays his life for his sheep.
